However, before we get started on that though I feel I need to explain that this post's title is inspired because of the Foo Fighters song, "Friend of a friend."
Although I've heard this song a hundred times already, I never really put any thought into it. Songs are great in the sense that you can tailor it to fit whatever is going in your life. Years ago, way before Iraq, I came home to my old stomping grounds of Goose Creek and was surrounded by familiar faces. It was during this time that I was introduced to some great new people and because of a friend of a friend, I have such a blessed life now. I feel that it needs to be added that some original friendships didn't turn out as well and while that sucks, it is what it is.
As previously discussed in my last blog, 2013 is going to be a huge year, lots and lots of travel to say the least! In addition, I've come to realize that as much as I enjoy South Carolina, I don't HAVE to stay here forever and I don't plan to. More to come later!
Self disclosure is a son-of-a-bitch ...at times, but it can also be a great thing too. And with that I figure this is as good a time as any to put it out there that PTSD has unfortunately become more of a part of my life than I ever wanted, but I'm strong and I'll get through it!
I'd like to dedicate this post to Joshua and Wild Bill because they've turned out to be the best friends of a friend ever!
